Mark brings enthusiasm, a love of conversation, veteran reporting presence and his unique voice to the AMS team. Prior to joining AMS in March 2023, he spent a dozen years sharpening his skills as radio news reporter and on-air host. A lifelong native of northwest Minnesota, he graduated from Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, Minn., with a Mass Communications degree.  

In his spare time, Mark enjoys hunting, fishing and listening to and playing music. Mark takes pride in being involved in his community by serving on the Twin Valley City Council, Twin Valley Community Boosters, Norman County EDA and the Joseph Urdahl Foundation board. Mark and his wife, Karen, were also members of the 2021 class of the Red River Valley Emerging Leadership program. The couple’s young daughter, Kathleen, keeps them on their toes. Mark is also an avid racing fan and has been the “Voice of Norman County Raceway” in Ada, Minn. since 2013.
