Growing up in the Red River Valley on a soybean, sugarbeet and wheat farm, Sydney Harris has been immersed in the world of agriculture from the get-go and serves as the resident “farm kid.” She attended NDSU, where she was active in Collegiate Farm Bureau and Sigma Alpha, an agricultural sorority, graduating with a major in management communication and a minor in ag business.  

Sydney joined the Ag Management Solutions team in January 2022 as a communications specialist, working with counties throughout west central Minnesota on behalf of Minnesota Soybean’s county program. In 2023, she became a “southerner” and relocated to the Mankato area where she transitioned into her current role as Communications Manager. 

Sydney works closely with Wisconsin Soybean and Minnesota Wheat as project manager and serves as managing editor of Prairie Grains Magazine. She also spearheads the MN Young & Emerging Farmer Workshop, a two-day program held in conjunction with MN Ag Expo. In addition, her writing skills are put to use on behalf of all clients, including Minnesota Soybean, Northern Soy Marketing and Specialty Soya and Grains Alliance.  

In her free time, Sydney enjoys a healthy dose of R&R (reading and running), working on the farm alongside her family and playing fetch with the family dog, Rumely.
